We'd like to send out a big "THANK YOU" to everyone who took part in this year's event.
We raised several hundred dollars for the Neighborhood Center of the Arts (NCA) and got to see dozens of creations by participating contestants.
It was quite a challenge choosing the winners because the quality of work was so high but our three judges ultimately agreed on the seven winners below.
Contestants were given a specific set of beads and up to two months to create either a "wearable" or "non-wearable" entry. They had to use at least 50% of the given beads and could add any other materials they wanted. The artist could then offer their creation for sale, as long as a minimum 50% of the selling price went to NCA. On average, artists generously donated 90% of the selling price to charity and several buyers offered more than the listed price, knowing that the proceeds would benefit NCA.
